What you sayabout 0:31

September twenty twelve, my first day at Cardiff uni. I turned up with a box of saucepans my mum had packed. Rhys was already in the kitchen, labelling the shelves with a label maker. His name on the top shelf, the rest blank, with a note: "first come first served, fair's fair." That's fourteen years. He was my best man in twenty twenty-two, so this is payback. pause

Opening hook

What Callum wrote in the questionnaireSomething they're oddly good or hopelessly bad at

When he finished there was one piece left over, a long wooden panel. He refused to accept it. He said it must be a spare. It was the back of the wardrobe. Hannah came in, looked at it for about 10 seconds, and said 'babe, that's the back'.

What made the speech

When he finished, one piece was left over, a long wooden panel. He wouldn't accept it was a mistake, said it must be a spare. It was the back of the wardrobe.

How it's written

Intelligent speech writing. Signed off by a person.

Our speechwriting system works through your answers the way a professional writer would: it picks your best stories, plans the structure, writes, then edits for laughs, flow and timing. It only uses what you tell us, and never invents a story. Then a real person reads every speech and signs it off before it reaches you.

  • Every name spelled exactly as you gave it
  • At least 2 of your own stories in the speech
  • Nothing from your “avoid” list. No exes.
  • Length within 15% of the time you asked for
  • Ends with a toast to the couple, by name
  • Read and signed off by a person before it’s sent
  • + 5 more checks

Before you pay

4 things you can check before you spend a penny.

Every one of these is on this page or in our terms, in writing. Check them yourself.

  • Read 3 whole speeches before you pay

Every word of 3 finished speeches is on this site, with the cue cards and the delivery notes exactly as a customer gets them. Most speech writers show you one paragraph.

  • Your money back, no questions

Two rounds of edits are included. If it still isn't right after both, you get your £39 back and you keep every draft we sent.

  • A deadline in writing

First draft within 24 hours of your answers, or 12 on Express. If we miss it we refund the difference. If we miss your wedding we refund the lot.

  • We tell you how it's written

Written with AI tools from your own stories, then read and signed off by a person. We say so on the homepage, in the FAQ and in the terms. Nobody here is pretending a novelist sat up all night.

Questions

Good to know.

How fast is it?

Standard is 24 hours from the moment your questionnaire is complete, for £39. Express is 12 hours, for £69, and we skip follow-up questions and write from what you give us. Wedding tomorrow? Email properspeeches@gmail.com first and we'll tell you straight whether we can make it.

Will it sound like me?

The questionnaire asks how you talk: phrases you use, a quick message written the way you would text it, how nervous you are, how far the jokes can go. If a line doesn't sound like you, say so in your edits and we change it.

What if I don't like it?

Ask for changes, twice. If it still isn't right, email us within 14 days of your first draft and we refund you in full.

What happens to my stories?

We use them only to write your speech, and delete your answers and drafts 60 days after your final version. The privacy notice has the detail.

I'm terrified of public speaking.

Most people are. Tell us in the questionnaire and we'll keep sentences short, put your first line in big type on card 1, and mark the places to breathe.

Do you use AI?

Yes. Our speechwriting system uses AI tools at each stage, working only from the answers you give us. It doesn't make up anecdotes, and anything it isn't sure about is flagged for checking. A person reads and signs off every speech before we send it.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancel before your first draft and you get a full refund. The terms explain the rest.

P.S. the first line is the hardest. We'll write it.

Your turn to raise a glass.

£39. Back within 24 hours. Full refund if it isn't right.
